• Podcast-binge ≠ practice. The talks teach; the practice is what you do without earbuds in.
• Parasocial relationships with podcast hosts can substitute for real teachers / community.
• Marketing-heavy shows (Daily Stoic, some yoga / wellness shows) are still useful but read the funnel.
• AI-generated podcasts are starting to flood the category; verify hosts are real people.
• Quality varies even within free libraries; ask in the relevant tradition's subreddit for current recommendations.

Cost / license honesty

• Most contemplative podcasts are free; many ask for Patreon / donation support.
